Maca bliss balls
Servings: 2 Time: 35 minutes Difficulty: easy
Have you ever had bliss balls? We have a thing for snacking so it’s always good to keep a batch in the fridge for any sweet cravings. They’re a great and healthy snack just made of dates, oats, nuts or nut butter as a base and any other ingredients you want to add. You could also replace the dates with any other dried fruit you prefer. No refined sugar, just the sweetness of Mother Earth.
During the last year they became one of our favorite snacks to grab on-the-go. Not only are they beyond easy to prepare, but also they are a great energy boost. Perfect as a sweet treat at work, fuel for pre or post workouts or to accompany your coffee in the afternoon.
For our bliss balls we use maca powder, which comes from the maca root and is a great source of nutrients, of amino acids and minerals. In the Andes the positive health effects are known and used since the Inca times, so thousands of years. It has many beneficial heath effects as it lowers the blood sugar and increases the vital energy. The taste is slightly malty or caramel and harmonizes perfectly with vanilla.
We are big fans of peanut butter and cinnamon. We could really add it to almost everything. Feel free to leave it or replace it with anything else.
